Commander Napoleon Gonzalez has served the Brownsville Police Department for nearly thirty years, advancing from Patrol Officer to Support Services Commander. He oversees critical areas like City Jail, Records, Property and Evidence, and Building Maintenance, while managing fiscal operations and improving workflow efficiency. His leadership has enhanced legal response times and operational readiness. Previously, he handled Uniform Services, modernizing scheduling and supporting community engagement. Earlier roles included Patrol Lieutenant, Sergeant, Supervisor, and Training Coordinator, where he expanded training programs and strengthened compliance. He holds a Master’s in Public Safety from the University of Virginia, a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, is an FBI National Academy graduate, and possesses numerous advanced certifications.
