MIKE DAVIS

Mike DavisMike Davis is a San Antonio, Texas native and graduate of Central Catholic High School. He obtained two Associates degrees from San Antonio College in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from UTSA, a Master’s degree from Texas State University from the College of Occupational Workforce Leadership Studies and a Master’s Certification in Professional Ethics.

Mike has over 24 years of professional experience working in criminal justice organizations. He began his career in the early 90’s as a court clerk in the Bexar County Mental Health Court. He became a Peace Officer and served as a university, municipal, and county officer promoting through the ranks from Patrol Officer up to Chief. He is a trainer, policy, and curriculum specialist for statewide and international programs as a sub-contractor for the U.S. Department of State.

He was the Academy Supervisor at the AACOG Alamo Area Regional Law Enforcement Academy, the Director/Deputy Chief of Training, Policy, and Planning at the Sheriff’s Academy of Bexar County and he retired at the rank of Captain of the Patrol Division where he served as Assistant Director of the Shavano Park Police Department. Mike is a Master Peace Officer and Advanced Police Instructor who has trained thousands of officers nationwide and internationally on various topics related to leadership, supervision, tactics, traffic safety, criminal investigations, and drug and alcohol awareness.

Today, Mike is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Criminology/Criminal Justice Department at UTSA. He founded, Archangel Professional Leadership, a small business that focuses on public safety leadership development, community collaborations, and accountability initiatives. He also volunteers his time to various organizations such as, being the Chair of the Bexar County DWI Task Force, East Central ISD Criminal Justice Advisory Committee member, and serves as a Sgt. Investigator for the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office where he is assigned to SWTX FUSION Center Threat Intelligence, policy coordinator, and Mental Health Investigations.
